This film shows a variety of the properties preserved and administered by the National Trust of Scotland and three exotic gardens on the west coast open to the public under Scotland's Gardens Scheme. The theme is the formality of Scottish architecture in contrast to the wild beauty of the countryside. Places seen: Iona; Falkland Palace, Fife; Culzean Castle, Ayrshire; Brodick Castle, Arran; Crathes Castle; Glencoe; Dunkeld village; Kintail; and the gardens of Crarae, Ardkinglass and Inverewe.
