Drama. The actor Silvio Steno and his wife Simonetta are in Venice preparing a production of 'Othello'. So busy with the play is Steno that Simonetta starts giving lots of her attention to her husband's great friend Count Andrea Scipione. Steno does not believe that Othello would really have killed his wife in a fit of jealousy, but after misinterpreting the nature of Simonetta's feelings for Andrea, Steno all but strangles her during the play. The misunderstanding is explained and the couple end happily.
