Comedy. Three crooks hide some stolen jewellery in a field shortly before they are captured by the police. Sentenced to ten years in jail, they try to locate the spot after they are released only to find that the whole area has now been built upon and that a large department store is over the precise spot of their hidden loot. Seen wandering around in the shop, they are apprehended by the store detective who takes them to see the management. The store is facing bankruptcy and, finding out about the background of the three men, the management hire them as workers with the intention of using them to burn the store down for the insurance. It goes wrong for all concerned, however, as the buried loot has already been dug up, and by the time the store is burned down the insurance has run out.
