Beyond a Reasonable Doubt (1956)

Film details

A reporter-turned-novelist, engaged to a newspaper proprietor's daughter, arranges a plan with his prospective father-in-law (a strong opponent of capital punishment) to prove the fallibility of circumstantial evidence by posing as the killer of a recently murdered burlesque performer, with the aim of getting a conviction and then revealing his innocence.
