Synopsis

The human mouth from babyhood to maturity: growth of temporary and permanent teeth; function of gums, tongue, kops, muscles, nerves, saliva as a protector etc.

With the help of x-ray photography this film examines many aspects of the mouth's development from babyhood to maturity. In addition, the film covers the part played by the mouth in more complex activities, such as the exercise of taste and smell, and, above all, the uniquely human accomplishment of intelligent speech.
