Instructional short feature. Tom, a good swimmer who is planning to participate in the school's sports day and win for his team, is wrongly accused of having cruelly abused a dog. He faces the dilemma of either telling his headmaster who the real culprits are, or losing his place in the team as punishment. Even though he knows that two of his opponents mistreated the dog, he decides not to speak up, and has to stay in detention while sports day is going ahead. His sister Peggy, however, is keen to reveal Tom's innocence and assures the dog owner of her brother's innocence. Together, they manage to find out who Tom was protecting. The two boys are being singled out, Tom gets to swim for his team - and win the event for them.
